Paintings
Most of my favourite paintings have some messy areas. It's best when a painting looks like a painting, when you can see some brush strokes
and the texture of the canvas showing through. When starting a picture I like to make a real mess of the canvas first, using colours like blues and browns
and just getting rid of all the white. That way as you work on, these colours show through and introduce some chaos and
reality to the work.
