My name is Roddy Easson and I have built this site as a portfolio for my paintings, illustrations and web work.
My whole life has been spent drawing and painting and in recent years I moved into the use of computer graphics with Photoshop and Illustrator. I have now been studying Web Development and Multimedia for a couple of years.

I have experience in (X)HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP and MySQL. I have an interest in creating fast loading and standards compliant sites which have strong visuals. My favourite techniques are things like image replacement and creating flexible layouts.
The Casino link will take you to my graded unit project from College. In it I used XHTML and CSS to build and style everything and then PHP to program the games, registration, login and feedback form. User details are stored in a MySQL database which encryptes the passwords and validates the login details.
As well as being able to create graphics with front and back end programing and layout design I have some experience of sound and video creation and editing for the web. This will become an essential skill for anyone working within the field as video becomes an everyday feature of the net.
Art
When I paint I like to work from life and photographs, portraits and figures being my main interest. When drawing I like to create images from my imagination. Using digital methods integrated with scanned drawings has opened up some new techniques and cleaner faster results.
When I was younger I really liked comic book art, people like Simon Bisley, Geoff Darrow, Chris Cunningham and Frank Frazetta inspired me and I used to sit and copy their work all day and night. Nowadays I am just as inspired by Film, literature and other forms of art like tattoos, graffiti and character design.
